I'm looking for a readable map of the grounds of Starfleet Academy. I know I saw one once, but I lost it and I haven't been able to locate it again. (When I say readable, I mean I've found a few maps, but they're so tiny I can't tell what the labels say.)

Was every cadet assigned to a ship? Or was it just the upperclassmen? How would you define upperclassmen- just seniors/fourth years/graduating students, or seniors+juniors, or something else entirely? Would any/all TAs have gone? Professors ( Read more... )

What are the punishments that people can receive on the Enterprise? I know about Court-Martials but I have a hard time believing that you get one if you're ten minutes late for work. Are their privileges that can be denied, can you be given extra work or some sort of official, career-damaging notice made on your file ( Read more... )

So, I was wondering about the chain of command. I'm writing a fic wherein Kirk does something naughty, and the higher ups at Starfleet are none to happy with him. I want him to plead his case to Pike, because of the prior relationship. Is that accurate? I've read fics that mentioned Pike dealing with Kirk because he was the only one that knew how. As decreed by St. Gene, Starfleet is not primarily a military organization. Still, there are some times you have to open a can of whoop ass, and a space-based phaser or a six-person landing party just isn't going to do the trick. So who are the soldiers in Starfleet?
